By connecting Stream buddy to OBS you will be able to control OBS and consult OBS information in Stream buddy. You can add buttons to control obs in the Streamboard and consult obs information using the Information bars.
In order to connect to OBS there are a few prerequisites.
In order to connect to OBS, you need to provide some information:
Address This is your public IP address, you can find that on websites like https://www.whatsmyip.org. Keep in mind that this can change daily depending on your internet provider. If you have a changing IP address, you can use a service like https://www.duckdns.org to get a URL you can use instead of public IP. If you are using a cloud obs solution, just ask them if you need help settings up the OBS connection. I’m sure they can give you the information you need.
Port You can find the port setup in OBS, Tools > Websocket Server Settings. If you have a home network setup, that means you will have to open that port on your router and forward it to your OBS computer. You can use websites like https://portforward.com to help you setting it up with your router. You might also need to open this port on your firewall if you are using one. Keep in mind that doing this will make your computer publicly accessible on the Internet through that port. So make sure you have the proper security settings on your computer.
Password You can also find the password in OBS, Tools > Websocket Server Settings > Show connect info.
OBS websocket version There’s multiple ways too know which version you have. But the easiest is probably looking at the Tools > Websocket Server Settings window. If it has a Show connect info button, you have v5, otherwise it will be v4.9.
If you are using IRLToolkit, you can easily go to IRLToolkit Dashboard > System on your Android device, and click the button Auto-connect Stream buddy. This will automatically link your IRLToolkit server to Stream buddy.
